Co-create modular letterforms by photocopying the template on p.48 of Participate and then passing it along to a group. This exercise works best with eight participants. Each participant becomes a “bit” of information, filling in one eighth of each of the four letterforms. A byte is a unit of digital information made up of eight bits. Represent digital information by filling in your designated area with simple graphic content, such as hatched lines, a dotted surface, or anything else that might come to mind. When the letterforms are complete, scan them in and enjoy them in digital form.
